Cost of the Digital Switchover

The cost dependings on what TV service and TV equipment you have. This can cost as little or as much as you like depending on if you pay a monthly fee or a one-off payment. It also depends on how many TV's you have in your house and if you want to convert them all.
Other factors are recording equipment and aerials which may need replacing.

What is the Digital Switchover?

In 2008 and ending in 2012, TV services in the UK will go totally digital, TV region by TV region. This is called the digital switchover.The UK's old television broadcast signal, known as analogue, is being replaced with a digital signal. Any TV set not converted to digital when the switchover takes place will no longer receive a TV signal.

When is the Digital Switchover?

During the last three months of 2009, the Granada TV region will become one of the first in the UK to switch over from analogue to digital TV.
In 2009, Wales will begin the switchover to digital TV ? becoming one of the first parts of the country to do so. The process will be completed in Wales by early 2010.
